I have been blaming Erica Messer for it all and then with the chat with Virgil it became clear that Janine Barrois is also running the show. The two of them are the worst writers on the show and the ones who seem to give the worst treatment to Reid (although Kim Harrison also is absolutely terrible at writing his dialog). So basically the showrunners are people who don't know how to write for Reid and don't seem to find him to be very interesting.

Matthew has said that he wants to come back. The problem is, because his screentime and role has been reduced, he is not considered as important by the producers and this will be noted by CBS. This gives him less leverage in contract negotiations. CBS may decide that he is easily replaceable or point out that he no longer fits in the show as the writers have to really struggle to find a use for him in each episode. As it is, most of the writers are not successful at finding something for him that actually does him justice.

I mean, Strauss was given a more important story arc than Reid this season. Even Kevin has had more going on in his personal life.

The season finale is going to be JJ-centric. That gives her 3 stories this season, Hotch has had several episodes showing him with Beth, Rossi had 2 stories (the ex-wife and the last episode), Garcia had 2 stories (sort of 3 if you count her angst over thinking she slept with Morgan), Morgan has been prominently featured in 11 episodes (and has had multiple stories in which he was highly focused upon). Prentiss had the drama with Morgan, the really crowbarred in drama about buying a house, the bit about seeing a shrink, and was the one to support Reid in his one and only focus episode. I would say Reid and Prentiss both got crap treatment this season, but at least Prentiss was not written as stupid and given childish lines like Reid.

Virgil said we will see the marriage proposal in the finale.

Second, it is all over the internet and posted on this site on the home page and the news page, that AJ Cook has resigned for 2 years. She WILL be back for the season finale and for all of season 7.

Third, Paget Brewster HAS been offered her role for Season 7 - whether she returns or not is whether or not the new pilot is picked up for her new show.

I don't think I'll be watching since prentiss. Is leaving and Seaver is taking Jj and prentiss place so I won't be watching in Seaver first episode Today I do. She don't fit well in with the team at all.

It would be such a great loss to see CM end. It has one of the best written characters with lovable flaws... I hope its does not perish like the rest of the good shows

"I thought the show was quite lame. I also did not find it very beliveable. How could someone who is with such small section like the BAU be move totally out of the FBI withone there boss knowing. I suppose the writers thought it would be easier on the fans by having her deal with some of the hardest part of her job ( dealing victim family emotions) and having come across that she really is much better off leaving the BAU and the rest of the team because she would never have deal with sad emotions of others as she had to in the BAU."

I know my emotions were out of control. I think it was easier for the fans to have her not wanting to go. Art imitating life.
