Synopsis:

Elle, along with four others, are held hostage on a train in Texas by a paranoid schizophrenic who is convinced that the U.S. government is monitoring him. Hotch, Gideon and Reid are forced to play into the man's delusion to save the people he has taken hostage.

Set in:

(Near) Dallas, TX

Best Moments Between Characters:

The scene where they are prepping Reid to go in alone to face the UnSub. Morgan is giving him pointers and Gideon is ready to pull the plug, but all the guys are around Reid giving him support.

When, at the end, Reid is telling Elle that he understood how the UnSub was feeling, and that he sometimes felt the same

Best Lines:

Reid: "Could you guys do me a favor?"
Morgan: "Anything."
Reid: "Could at least one of you look like you're going to see me again?"
Hotch: "See you when you get back."

[The business man/hostage removes a bible from his briefcase.]
Young Hostage: "Are you kidding me? What are you going to do, throw it at him?"

[Final scene when Reid is trying to convince Elle to go get checked out at the hospital]
Elle: "I'm fine, Dad."
Gideon: "Elle."
Elle: "Yeah?"
Gideon: "Don't ever call me 'dad' again."
Elle: "How do you think he'd feel about 'mom'?"
Reid: "Let me know when you're going to do that, so I can, uh, run."

The turning point in the investigation:

When the psychiatrist traveling with Ted turns his arm towards the camera. Gideon and the BAU Team see the scars and realized that the "it" Ted wants removed is a microchip he believes was implanted by the government (higher power). Reid, demonstrating his skills as a magician, enters the train to "remove" it.

Whodunit?

Dr. Theodore Byar who is plagued by a voice in his head of a man he calls Leo. After watching Elle read a file marked "FBI" then converse with a train security guard, "Leo" convinces him that Elle and all the others on the train with him are government agents and they are tracking his every move.

Trivia:

Ralph Tortorici was the basis for this episode.

i love the part where Elle is like "I"m fine dad" and Gideon is like " Don't ever call me dad again" and Elle is like "i wonder how he'd feel if I called him Mom" and Reid is like "let me know when you're gonna do that so i can um... run"
