The Perfect Storm


Synopsis:
Girls in their late teens early twenties are being abducted, raped, tortured, murdered and dumped in Jacksonville, Florida. The team is brought in on the case when DVDs of the rape and torture are sent to the girls' families. When they watch the first DVD, the team decides that it is two unsubs working together instead of one.
Set In:
Jacksonville, FL
Best Moments Between Characters:
  • Between Derek and Penelope when he calls to ask her about the sounds on the DVD. Even though Penelope is watching some pretty horrific things on her screens, she still manages to flirt with Derek and he gets her to laugh as they share information.
  • When Reid says that Amber looks scared while being in the same room with her husband and Gideon tells him to look harder. It shows that Reid is still learning and Gideon is his teacher.

Best Lines:
  • Reid: "Wow. She obviously did nothing to protect Amber from the abuse. She... she feels betrayed by her mother and now receives extreme sadistic pleasure in watching the same thing that happened to her. Strange. In this case the abused actually became the abuser."
    Garcia: "That doesn't happen a lot?"
    Reid: "One in eight."
    Garcia: "We found the one."

The turning point in the investigation:
When Gideon is observing the wife of a suspect interact with her husband. He discovers that she is dominating her husband into doing as she orders.

Whodunit?
Amber turns out to be the one orchestrating the entire thing because she was raped and brutalized by her father and brother as a young girl in a cabin in the woods.


Goofs
In the TV report about Tiffany Spear's disappearance, the name of the city is misspelled. It should have been "Middleburg Woman Missing", not "Middleberg..."
