The Boogeyman


Synopsis:
The BAU travels to a small community to investigate the murders of children. Meanwhile, Elle is having readjustment issues after being shot, and Hotch becomes worried about her when she misses a mandatory psych evaluation and isn't answering her cell phone.

Set In:
Ozona, TX
Best Moments Between Characters:
  • When Reid is on the phone with Penelope while sitting in the dark in a potential unsub's house and she is freaking him out by emphasizing the fact that he's alone in a suspect's home. (Quote below)
  • When JJ tells the story about why she is afraid of the woods to Morgan and Reid and they fall for it even though it turns out to be something she made up.

  • Garcia: "This is true. All complaints filed were false alarms, but then there is that matter of his missing wife."
    Reid: "Wife? What wife? When did she go missing?"
    Garcia: "Almost 50 years ago."
    Reid: "No record of her ever being found?"
    Garcia: "I got two words for you, my friend: 'Rear Window.' That guy probably chopped that lady up into delicious, bite-size little pieces. Think about it. She may never have left the premises. She may still be in the house."
    Reid: "Garcia, I'm sitting in the dark alone. Thanks."
    Garcia: "While you're waiting for a potential murderer to come home? Kind of dangerous. Kind of sexy."
  • Reid: "Did you guys hear that Elle was cleared?"
    Morgan: "Self-defense."
    Reid: "So it was a good shoot?"
    JJ: "Well, she hit what she was aiming for."
    Reid: "That's not what I meant."
    JJ: "I know."

The turning point in the investigation:
Gideon discovers that it is the guidance counselor's son when he offers him milk in his coffee, which he accepts, when he finds out someone in the house has a milk allergy which is why the creamed spinach wasn't eaten at Finnegan's house.


Whodunit?
The guidance counselor's son, Jeffrey Charles, because he was looking for attention from his father. When Gideon asks him why he did it, Jeffrey says, "Because I wanted to."
