Set In:
Chicago, IL
Best Moments Between Characters:
  • Morgan's mother telling him that he owes her some grandbabies.
  • Morgan confronting Buford about sexually assaulting him as a kid, and doing the same to kids over the years, and also about killing any child that showed interest in telling anyone about it.

Best Lines:
  • (Reid's rocket flies and hits Prentiss on the forehead)
Prentiss: Uh! Ah! What?!
Reid: I'm so sorry Emily!
Prentiss: What was that?
Garcia: Don't you recognize a rocket when you see one?
Reid: I...I...I was merely demostrating a physics law. I...I...I didn't mean ta'...
Prentiss: Ooooo! Show me!
  • (Reid's rocket lands at Hotch's feet)
Hotch: Physics Magic? Reid: Yes sir. Hotch: Reid, we talked about this... Reid: I'm sorry sir. (Hotch hands Reid the rocket tube) Hotch: But your starting to get some distance though (Reid smiles and Hotch turns away smiling) Prentiss: So he does have a sense of humor? Reid: Sometimes

  • Morgan: "Call me Agent Morgan."
Det. Gordinski: "You'll always just be Derek to me."
Morgan: "And you'll always be a racist son-of-a-***** to me."

  • (Gordinski places snapshots of Morgan first of him at a grave and then in front of the Youth Center watching the kids play ball in front of Morgan)
Morgan: (laughs) What've you got? A crush on me all of a sudden?
  • JJ: "This is all just coincidence."
Det. Gordinski: "Heck of a lot of coincidences!"
    Prentiss: "It's purely circumstantial."
Det. Gordinski: "So is a fingerprint! "
  • Gideon: "I don't like them calling him a suspect."
    Hotch: "Me neither."
  • Reid: "Actually, law enforcement officials are just as probable statistically to commit a crime as anyone else. You look at the cross-section of a society there's a general population and a small fraction of this percentage."
Prentiss: "He's not actually saying he believes Derek is involved in this."
  • Hotch: "Since when is a criminal history of a suspect not relevant?"
Gideon: "You just called him a suspect."
  • Carl Buford: (being handcuffed) "Derek, isn't there something you can do for me?!"
    Morgan: "You go to hell."
  • Carl Buford: "Are you saying I had nothing to do with making you who you are?"
Morgan: "No, Carl, actually I’m saying that you had everything to do with making me who I am. Because of you I’m somebody who gets to spend the rest of his life making sure that guys like you go down." ----

  • Morgan: "And you feel like you have to do everything you can for him because he’s the closest thing you have to a father."
  • Morgan: "I felt responsible for him, I mean I was the one who found him, right? "
  • Morgan: "The only body I'd seen before that was my father, and I was 10."
  • Morgan: "One kid steps up and breaks the dam, just one, and then another one, and another one, because they're not afraid of you anymore."
  • Morgan: "God, I was so afraid of you. I was afraid of the police. I was afraid of losing everything I was gaining."

The turning point in the investigation:

Whodunit?
Carl Buford the man who ran the youth center. He had been taking in young boys and then taking them places and molesting them and it turned out, he had molested Morgan as well. When one of them turned to Morgan for help, he set him up by killing the boy.

Where was The Riddle used in this ep - I just watched it on ION and don't recall it used, only In Times Like These at the end. Were other songs used in the original airing, and then changed for the reruns like for DVD because of licensing?

So yesterday, I was watching profiler, profiled again because it was on and i love this show so much(who cares that i've already seen it!! =P). As I was watching, I realized something that I didn't think about the first time I saw the episode. So after Hotch was talking to Morgan about Carl Buford, he leaves and the cops discover that Morgan is gone. So then I started to wonder how he got out...i though maybe Morgan told Hotch what had happened in his childhood9which we find out later) and Hotch let him go after that, but i wasn't totally sure.

I don't know if anyone really knows, so I'm just assuming that Hotch let Morgan go. But if anyone does know, you can reply back on this thread. I just didn't know if i was the only one who though that Hotch let Morgan go or if Morgan escaped by himself.

Thanks!!!!
