About Face

Synopsis:
A killer taunts his victims with "MISSING" fliers that feature the soon-to-be victim's photo, and a new profiler joins the team.

Set in:
Dallas, TX
Best Moments Between Characters:
  • When Rossi meets with Strauss; he is blunt and to the point and doesn't take her crap.
  • When Hotch and Rossi meet again, they hug and then both turn to look at Strauss until she leaves

Best Lines:
  • (After Garcia meets Rossi and leaves the conference room)
    Rossi: "She's different."
    Hotch: "You have no idea."

  • Hotch (after seeing mask on news): "JJ--"
JJ: "They didn't get that from me."
    Rossi: "I called them.''

  • Rossi (to Hotch): "The bells and whistles have changed. But an unsub is still an unsub - and I know how to deal with an unsub.”

  • Rossi (after meeting JJ): Wow. We didn't have that ten years ago.
    Hotch: What do you mean?
    Rossi: .. Communications coordinator
    Hotch (smiling): Right.

  • Reid: That particular mask is known as a ''false face''. It's most commonly worn during halloween and mardi gras.
Morgan: Creepy. I rest my case.

The Turning Point in the Investigation:
When Garcia turns up a link between the two victims, Michelle and Enid. She discovers that Michelle did a layout design for the company in which Enid worked.

Whodunit?
Max Poole, a man who felt ignored and unseen by others. He was technically savvy so he created the "have you seen me?" fliers of his two victims and watched the women and their patterns. He sexually assaulted one, killed her, and removed her face. The second victim is found still alive; it is unknown if she was assaulted. He removes the faces and used the hockey mask because it is a sign of how he feels--ignored and unseen.

Who else saw how when it showed Strauss intruducing Rossi to Hotch, Rossi's beard was shaved? Then they were on the jet and Rossi had a face full of hair again. It made my sister, mom, and me crack up because we weren't expecting to see his beard at the time!!!!

I rewatched this episode the other night. I can honestly say after seeing it again, Rossi really rubbed everyone the wrong one. But they were also not thrilled with a new addition to their team. We all dislike it when we lose a beloved coworker and are a bit resentful when a new one comes on board. I tried to look at this episode through an objective opinion. All I can say is, Rossi has definitely come a long way from this episode! He is more of a team player. I'm trying to remember WHEN he finally lost his little black book! God I disliked that part of him!

Okay, I know this is his first appearance, but I don't think I like this character. Atleast at first glance I don't. He's arrogant. He's not a team player. I know that he said it wasn't how they did it when he was part of the BAU before, but . . . . And he is totally condsending to Reid! Reid wants to be helpful but Rossi totally blows him off. Maybe it is just that I don't like arrogant people in day to day life. I don't like them on TV either.
