This episode was disturbing but i still think it is a very good one. Poor Emily she got outbeat by a guy, there was nothing she could have done. How sad

Alright I know this is several months after the fact and into the season where we lost AJ and could very well loose Paget but I have been rewatching several of my personal favorite episodes and this is one of them.
When seeing this episode you see how they are simply working together as if this is just another case, another interview but when it devolves into the stand off they click into profiler mode. But the thing that really gets me is the trust that continues to grow between these characters. It had an evident place in Season 3 episode 16 Elephants Memory when if you pay attention to when Reid approaches Owen he blocks the shot Morgan, Hotch and Rossi all have.
The trust shown in that episode was that Reid trusted Emily not to shoot, he asked her to trust him. She did and so when it comes down to who Cyrus attacks in this episode I found it fitting that Emily spoke up. To me it is showing her strength knowing what could happen, she took the risk that she could be killed trusting that Reid would still solve the situation.
Also when she is about to be rescued she wanted to stay and get Reid out it was only once Morgan told her he would get him out that she left. She trusts him but their time in that situation created a closer bond, one I wish could be seen more.
In the end I really think a big thing this entire episode and almost all of the other ones is quite simply trust. Trust that the people you work with on a daily basis have your back no matter how dangerous things get. They have each others back. I do admit I love the connection that can be seen between Reid and Emily but in the end my enjoyment of that ship doesn't beat the love I have of the examples of trust shown.

I was watching the rerun of episode 4.03 (minimal loss) with luke perry as benjamin cyrus. At the end, Cyrus quotes to Reid a passage from the Bible, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." He quoted the verse as Matthew 10:24 when infact, it is Matthew 10:34. He mistated the correct verse for the quote he used. a BLOOPER, perhaps???

I noticed that too. I think it was on purpose though, either to show off reid's memory a bit more or to say that even this really religious guy messed up a little when he repeated something from the bible. Or it could've easily been a blooper too.

Wow! This episode was really exciting! :D to be honest, at the very beginning, as I heard about abuses, I though it would have been a bad episode (as I don't like abuses-rapes plot at all), but then it turned into a totally great episode I enjoyed very much! it was another amazing episode involving all the team members, and Prentiss above all: finally we see her in action! :) well, I read here some questions about why Emily and Reid undercover... well, I think they were the best choice, because they have the so-called "physique du role" (I don't know how to translate that into English...), and I think they were perfectly believable! ;) for the same reason, I think Emily took the right decision and the only one possible: I don't think Cyrus would have been convinced that Reid is a real agent! so probably he would have beaten Emily in any case... I liked Rossi's and Hotch's behaviours, both so unusual from different reasons. I agree with the people who said Hotch didn't have the usual active and cool role because of the trauma post-Mayhem... and I also think that not less than a month must have passed after episode 2, if you look at JJ's belly and at the fact that Hotch's hearing problems wasn't explicitly mentioned aymore (but he's clearly not totally ok yet, perhaps only psychologically). and, as #1hotchfan says, the scene with that stupid senator was priceless! Hotch was really fantastic!! :D The Reid/Prentiss scene on the jet was quite obvious and, I must say, it didn't touch me so much... I think that scene was too short and not as deep as it should have been: I also expected the others saying sth to her such as "you ok? we're sorry you had to suffer, thank you for your help", and so on. yes, I really love this episode but I think it would have been nice to see some more final dialogues on the jet, like those we are used to! ;)

(spoilers??)
I absolutely loved this episode. I thought it was a great. I wasn't such a fan of Mayhem, Angel Maker was pretty good and now - amazing. Luke Perry was spot-on. Strangely, I wasn't thinking "90210" the whole time he was on. Also, the interaction between his character and Reid was perfect. At one point, I thought Reid was going to join the commune, they got along so "well." JJ was really showing this episode, too, for someone who was wondering about that last time around. I have noticed that her scenes are few and far between, though...
Whatever happened to Hotch's hearing problems? Apparently spending a few days in the countryside is the new miracle cure-all!

You're right on spot, the best thing that saved them, was Reid knowing when to yell "RUN!!" There was no other option. They barely made it out alive. As far as I could tell, and I rewound the tape a lot, there was no way to stop her. I may be wrong about the quote here, Benjamin Franklin said " Those who follow in blind faith, follow blindly" if it wasn't in there it should have been.
