Synopsis:
A BAU case hits close to home for Morgan, who was a cop before joining the team, when a serial killer specifically focuses on members of the police force.

Set In:
Phoenix, AZ
Best Moments Between Characters:
  • When the team was constantly trying to settle down the officers they were working with, and make them realize Playboy was not the UnSub.
  • When Hotch, Morgan and Rossi faked out the UnSub at the end and captured him.
  • When Morgan stayed behind and attended one of the slain officer's funerals.

Best Lines:

  • Reid: Both incidents show an active understanding of police procedure.
    Morgan: Which narrows it down to anybody who watches television.




The turning point in the investigation:
When they realized that the unsub was going after people in authority. They had Garcia do a search over a 3 month period prior to the shooting of the police officers. They discovered a bouncer that had been shot with the same weapon, same MO. They assumed the unsub had beaten the bouncer before killing him and they learned about the fight club. It was through this club that they were able to get a good description of their unsub and his reasons why he was killing people the way he was.


Whodunit?

No name was stated other than he known as Animal. In his life the unsub lost many fights and was often beaten down, he began killing police as a means to prove himself. The unsub called the tipline giving the police a false tip which led them out to the unsubs hunting ground, after killing his victims he would put his hand on their throat which symbolize his control over life and death. After debunking the tip the team came up with a plan to get Hotch alone as a set up for the unsub. The unsub was caught, and while getting walked out in cuffs was shot by Playboy.
