Synopsis:
The team travels to a spring break hot spot to find a serial killer who is targeting college students on vacation.

Set In:
South Padre Island, TX

  • When Morgan asks Reid what is going on with him, and Reid answers, "Tobias Henkel."
  • When Morgan asks Reid where Amanda would go and Reid has a flashback to his abduction.
  • When Reid is able to stand Amanda down and keep her from killing Adam's stepfather.

  • Reid (to Amanda): "Adam was too weak to go through all that alone. He was just a little boy. He needed you to protect him."
  • Derek (to Reid): "Kid . . . you're gonna have to accept the fact that, sometimes, we can't save everyone."

The Turning Point in the Investigation:
When Adam failed a geometry control question on the polygraph. He was not supposed to know the answer, but the polygraph peaked. Reid realized that Adam has multiple personalities--there was another personality who answered that question falsely because the personality knew that Adam would not know it. Later, this was confirmed when Reid saw his body language change as Adam gave him a "death stare" as Adam was leaving the police station, and as Reid saw when Adam attacked a man who later turned out to be a victim.



Whodunit?
Adam Jackson's other personality, Amanda. She felt that she was protecting Adam by killing the victims. Adam wasn't aware of her actions, or the fact that he had another personality. Amanda emerged when Adam was young and evolved when he was being abused by his stepfather, who made him wear dresses and humiliated him.
