7.14 - a great episode. Hotch has been great this season. TG is playing Hotch very well as he tries to get back into relationship mode with Beth. I love Hotch when he is intense and serious and angsty. But this is a new side to Hotch which we haven't really seen before and I am enjoying it. Pity Paget is leaving, but 6 profilers is plenty and I hope CBS don't replace her. Roll on CM!

I remember that too he never was shot. He was stabbed like 9 times or something. And when Prentiss when to his apartment she said it went clean through and there was no blood splatter.

I don't approve of being disrespectful of anyone, male or female -- and I found your last sentence insulting, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because you apparently don't understand what the words "disrespectful" and "sexist" really mean.

Some of the strongest women in television are on CM -- and not just the BAU members ... we've seen a lot of strong, resourceful female victims, too. They've had some pretty feeble writing this season, but they have gone to great lengths to showcase JJ, Prentiss, Garcia, and Seaver. If anything, they have underused their male stars, especially Reid and Hotchner.

Hotch was out for over a month after his encounter with Foyet, and the show has dealt several times with his problems as a single parent. And, yes, he took time off on at least two occasions to be with Jack.

People don't come back from the dead on procedural shows -- on any show intended to give an impression of "real life." They just don't.

How you can take that notion ... that a dead character is a dead character .. and come to the conclusion that I agree with being disrespectful toward women just baffles me. If they brought her back I would be outraged that they had insulted the intelligence of their viewers -- many of whom are females.

Can we go back to the original topic, which was speculation as to whether Haley was unfaithful?

And, fabemily, why don't you start a thread of your own here on the site, proposing that they bring Haley back to life? That might be interesting and instructive... in a lot of ways.

I think Hotch regretted his decision to not accept the deal only because people died. I think any of us would feel guilt that people died as a direct result of our actions. He knew he made the right decision eventually, but the blood of those people on the bus became a bit much for him in Omnivore and then the personal torture in Nameless/Faceless.
I don't think it was ever his intention to simply kill Foyet. He always wanted to stop him, not kill him in cold blood. But he did what he had to do to save his family. At heart, Hotch is a guy who follows the rules and knows that the justice system is in place for a reason. If he didn't, he couldn't do his job effectively.

I am so thrilled to find you all on my wavelength - this is so cool - I pretty much agree with y'all... :-D In an online chat, I am delighted to report Ed Bernero did say he was hoping to address Hotch's trauma in the next season so I am beyond thrilled - as a poster said above, I too would love H/H flashbacks... considering they were together since highschool in 1987, that gives them 22 years knowing eachother... In addressing Hotch's backstory, I think Haley's time with him is quite an important part of that...
Again, thrilled to have this discussion with you guys - it breaks my heart to see Haley bashers be so mean about her...the writers did a much better job than make a one dimensional whinge like the fandom and fics generally make her out to be...

"In Montana, a member of a local militia, Frances Goering, is identified as a sadistic serial killer. He then commits suicide by blowing himself up, taking a cop with him. Goering's M.O. was kidnapping young women, torturing them for a few days and then killing them. By the time of his death he had killed 3 and held another captive. The BAU is called in to locate the survivor and finds her freshly killed, meaning Goering had an accomplice who now has literally taken his identity."
