Diana Reid is the mother of SSA Spencer Reid. She is currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada at Bennington Sanitarium, as a patient. She was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and has lived at Bennington since Spencer was eighteen years old, when he had her committed because of his inability to care for her. She is/was a professor of 15th Century Literature.
