I just found out that I'm like Rossi. Above it said he met Emma when they were 12 they knew they were doomed to be "star crossed Lovers" and thats how I am!!!

Please give the guy a chance. We usually need some time to get used to a new anything. Besides, I think Gideon had a perpetual unhappiness about him and I'm glad he's history only because it made it possible to bring in Rossi. Rossi more charming and easy on the eyes. But more importantly, his role adds history and substance to the BAU, being the guy who started it in the early days and thru him show how things were before as compared to present day BAU. Also, his experience and age helps to sort of bind the team, finally having a 'older brother' who's been there and done that.

Rossi?
I need some serious help with writing Rossi in character. I don't want back ground information about him, like the fact that he was married and divorced three times, I want character info. For example is he witty, what would he do in a certain situation, etc, etc,

Hello ... Am I the only one APPALLED at how David just slid Gideon's name off the door and onto the floor ? I am begining to think he's ok. But I WILL NOT forget how he disrespected Gideon !

i hate him ... gideon was a father figure to the group and rossi seems like he is working against the group. he is insensitive to morgans requests,deminishs hodges authority,looks at reid like he's crazy and basically ignores all female characters. gideon helped reid and morgan work thru their dreams and rossi seems creepy and self interested...

"I can't think of it like that because it's not true for me. And, it makes both Rossi and Gideon seem one dimensional (or worse) if their value to a number of people lies mainly in who came first. " ok so most people dont think of it like that i loved gideon and was always wishing for his return, but david rossi has been a member of the bau before and he knows what he is doing although he seems a bit weird to me, but if that is how the writers of criminal minds wants you to feel about him, then perhaps they want you to hate him because of the way he comes across. david rossi is a man who holds onto the past, and the writers make us believe that because he has taken over gideons job that he must be trying to replace him and because we all know that no one can ever replace gideon he just doesnt match our standards.

David Rossi and the show
My favorite show since its beginning has been Criminal Minds. I look forward to this show, wish it was one of the network shows on On Demand -CBS, where I can watch it again or if I miss it. I do want you to know Jason is really missed. I am not comfortable with David Rossi, the actor is not right for the part, does not fit in at all. I can not think of who would be good for this part.

Why is David Rossi placed on the shelf
I've been watching Criminal Minds for two years and absolutely love it.......what I cannot understand is why David Rossi gets so little air time.........I love all the cast members, but Dave just seems to linger in the background.......Joe is as good an actor as Mandy was; and they each have their personality
It seems to me that Hotch, whom I love also gets more time as does Morgan.......not complaining but
Joe Mantegna is a great actor and part of the reason, I have continued to watch........please fans, give him a chance, but only if CBS wakes up from their zen like state........

I don't like Rossi *much* I admit, he is in fact, growing on me, but whenever I think of Gideon or watch the old episodes, I just can't help feeling Jason's absence.
I agree with those who said that s01&s02 were all Gideon, but we need to remember that at that point, Mandy Patinkin was the highlight of the show, the selling point. I admit, sometimes Gideon overshadowed other characters, but that's what Gideon was : a strong forceful man, the leader...the reason why I like JG is because he is so twisted! Remember the time when he went to the crime scene and screamed his head off just to see whether the neighbors got up or not...and the time he fooled a highly intelligent terrorist by influencing the time of his (terrorist's) prayers...that was so incredibly cool!
David Rossi, on the other hand, is so normal...regular...average.... So yeah, in my books Gideon scores higher than Rossi any day...
P.S. Gideon and Reid had a father-son relationship. Rossi keeps giving my baby Reid dirty looks. I can't possibly forgive that...

What is your favorite David Rossi moment?
I love David Rossi and some of my favorite moments are :
- When he talks to Morgan at the bar in "Lo-fi" and promises him to be there for him
- when he opens up to the team in "Damaged" and finally understands that they are a family who help each other because they care about each other
- helping Emily in "Demonology"
- when he is there for Hotch in "Omnivore"
- He is great in "Identity", "Zoe`s Reprise", "Minimal Loss", "Limelight" and "Masterpiece" and many more.
Davdi Rossi is easily one of my fave CM characters.

I love Rossi's Character
In “Limelight”, when agent Morris directs herself only to Rossi, Rossi cuts her off and indtroduces/includes Reid in the conversation. They work together over the notes, journals and when Reid finds the signature, Rossi adds “as a method of torture. Be specific. In a court, a judge will demand it.” He is teaching Reid a practical, real world application of Reids’ knowledge. He compliments Reid on finding the Unsubs’ signature. He berated himself in front of Hotch, JJ and Reid, declaring himself an egotist and that it was too late to undo his past wrongs but it wasn’t to late for Morris. Rossi trusts each of them to be able to say that in front of them. He knows it will go no further.
He asks Reid is they have the letter on Morris’ computer screen. They are working as a team. He doesn’t go after Morris alone. He informs the team what they, Rossi and Reid, found in Morris’ office, and Rossi and Reid go after her.
When Reid addresses Rossi in the parking garage, he is calm and comforting with Rossi. He calls him David. Also, Rossi is angry with himself for not discerning Morris’ intentions to go off by herself even though he didn’t know she had gotten the letter and that she had left the office. I also think he was disappointed at himself because he allowed misjudged her ambition.
I think it’s great that the oldest and the youngest members of the team have bonded. I definitely think it will get Morgan’s goat!
I believe that Rossi is an individualist. He lives in the real world and is self-sustaining. He doesn’t need a lot of interactions of others to be fulfilled. He takes responsibility for his actions and opinions. I believe Agent Morris to be an egotist. The world revolves around her and everyone is there to further her goals/wants/desires in life. Morris was going to get the admiration she felt she so richly deserved and if that meant using the BAU to do so, then so be it!

What is your favorite Rossi moment?
In Birthright when Rossi and retired Sheriff Caulfield were talking about the case and Rossi told him about his unfinished case and the kids not calling him back. I really felt bad for him (first time). He finally let his guard down to somebody and showed that he could be hurt.

We just need a little more of david rossi's personality
I think we need to see a little more of david rossi and why he is so guarded and cold. Delve into his misson a little more in the storyline and on the way he needs to get closer to one member of the team. Give the guy a break. He had it hard enough coming into a show this late and after a beloved character. Don't you people ever remember substitute teachers? that can't be easy.

David Rossi.
Doesn't have many fans, people don't seem to appreciate him as much as the rest of the team. I like him the most, its quite a fresh contrast between Gideon's insecurity and Dave's own depth of character.
