Reid's adventures in virtual social sites

Well, discussing what Reid would do once he is at home (see the "Reid at home" thread, is great fun), we come to imagine him using his computer, not only for work but also for interacting with other people.I said he will provably go to a site like this one, but devoted to science fiction (Star Trek, StarGate,etc), a place where people discuss in a "serious way" about a show they love, you know... or he could also have joied one of those scientific communities on line... It was also said that he could have gone to some of this "social sites" to meet people, and have all sort of reactions about the places (you know some of them are really amusing, hehe)... So, I am inviting you to imagine what sort of places/sites would he visited on line, and how would he react in any case... Could be great fun just to imagine the faces he could make trying to chat and so on :) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Hm... This sounds interesting! :DWell I think that Reid must be a member of sites like this one dedicated to Star trek etc... Maybe even Facebook or Myspace and Twitter! :D lol But I think that he isn't an internet addict or something like that,cause it would take too much of his time,and I'm sure that he knows better! lol Do you find this valuable? |

I think he might be one of those online lurkers , who join forums because they have an interest in the topic but dont actually post themselves. I also think he might try his hand at a dating website because it does seem to bother him that he cant get a date when these unsubs seem to have their pick of the ladies. I think he would be too shy to actually call up/organise a date with anyone who posts to his profile but everytime someone says hello to him etc. it would make him happy. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I can sooooooo see Spencey going online and reading articles about some serial killers and Star Trek news.......I agree about the lurking, although I think he wouldn't go on a dating site; I could see him spouting off random facts about how they're dangerous and that stalkers lurk there. I can see him saying that Twitter is for stalkers, too. :) Hmm...... maybe he would make a website with a bunch of obscure and rare books..........

i basically just got an image of the chatrooms sort of like in P911 when you see Morgan in a chatroom as 'suzy'... i sort of imagined him on those... or playing games like Runescape as a big tough rouge knight lol :)

These ideas are great! He would likely do all of them and then some. However, additionally, he mentions at one point that he reads very little in English so we can assume, then, that he reads, and in foreign languages. Think: french poems...

I could see him playing minecraft or world of Warcraft and be like a super smart wizard. I dont play the games so I don't know if those characters really exist. and I don't think he would be able to have face book etc. because he said in one episode that he didn't have an email and you need an email to create an account.

It kind of makes me think of the Reid/Morgan moment in the Season One episode, 'The Popular Kids'. Morgan asks Reid why he is tired, and what he was doing last night, and Morgan's guess was 'Let me guess. Watching Star Trek, and laughing at the physics mistakes.' Then, of course, Reid's reply is, 'Actually, there aren't that many errors in Star Trek. Improbabilities, yes, but not that many outright errors.' Ah, I love him. <3 2 out of 2 found this valuable.
