Am I the only one?

Im new to the site and I can see im a very small fan now by seeing everyone elses knowledge of the show! My question... Am I the only one who when first started watching had a thing for Morgan, but after a few shows now have a MAJOR thing for Reid?

Don't worry, we all started with knowing only a little about the show. :) I always loved Reid the most, right from the beginning.

Hehe...I have to be honest and admit that I only started watching because I fell in love at first sight with Reid, I was home alone one night aimlessly flipping channels and then I saw him and I started watching :P I've watched all the episodes more than once now...in the beginning I knew nothing about profiling or psychology but I've learned so much from the show! And like Wolfeaddict I've always have and always will love Reid the most, although slowly I've started to love all the characters, it's just an incredible show with an amazing mix of characters.

I was exactly the same! When I began to watch the show my favorite character was Morgan but now it's Reid.

Naaa, you're not the only one. I was directed to CM after discussing various hotties with a friend (we have a mutual thang for Ronon Dex on Stargate Atlantis, and she thought I might appreciate Morgan). Now, whilst I can totally see the Morgan thing (there is no denying that he is a pretty, pretty boy!), it was Reid who caught my attention more. At first, it was one of those 'aww, it should be criminal to be that cute!', but then, as the seasons went on, it went from 'he's just so adorable' to 'would actually quite like to touch that in inappropriate ways...' XD XD

YES! That is exactly what happened for me! I started out being obsessed with Morgan, but then the more I watched I slowly became obsessed with Reid. Sigh.. His intelligence just makes him so sexy :)

my friend convinced me to watch the show. She was madly in love with reid so i told myself that i had to hate the "tall gangly nerd" that she was in love with so that we could fight. (very mature, right? :P) anyway, after one episode I loved him. there is just no hating reid

Initially, I was drawn to Morgan. However, as the seasons progressed, I find Reid more attractive. He's kind, intelligent, sensitive, and caring. The perfect boyfriend.

When I started watching (first ep I saw was season 5when they go to Alaska) and I didn't like at all. Not knowing anyone's back story I thought he was a bit paid a know it all :( Then the next day they showed Fisher King pt 1 and 2 and I decided I loved him! :p

Morgan's the best character on the show, in my opinion. I find Reid too one-dimensional...no offense. There are many facets to Morgan's character and he is the only one that has remained human, wheras they've superhero'd many of the other team members to unbelievable levels. Morgan's the underrated alpha-male, and while my original favorite was Gideon, after Season 2, Derek Morgan became the ONLY character that has kept me watching. 1 out of 3 found this valuable. CM's creators have done a great job building the show's characters. There's a story behind each one of them and a unique role they have for the team. That's why it's called team and that's why they travel all together. Remember some episodes where one of our heroes has to deal with something.. they all end with one phrase "I'll need my team for this". Cut one of them and you have a gap that's obvious. Separate the scenes of each actor and you have no show.Morgan is the action man, the one who runs in first, the one who breaks the doors, the one who gets angry if a team member is in danger, followed by a sad and traumatic story (Profiler Profiled) and if you ask me maybe the most sensitive of all. I wouldn't call him "underrated", why then he stands still since episode 1? :) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

He's underrated by the fans, IMO. Everybody is real quick to praise or comment on another team member, but Morgan is almost always ignored, especially in episodes where his heroic actions should deserve praise and acclaim. It's always overlooked and the attention goes to Reid's hair or Hotch's tie. But if Reid or Hotch do something that stands out in an episode, there's wide-spread praise and whatnot. I feel like it's a double standard, thus, why I find Morgan underrated. Do you find this valuable? |

He is by far the character with the most back story and he has much more to fear than the rest of the team. While Morgan is human, like you pointed out, so is everyone else. Reid had a drug problem that he still struggles with and lives with the knowledge that he one day might loose his sanity to his brilliant mind. Hotch lost his wife and almost his son all the while feeling like he failed at protecting them when he had the American dream. Emily lied and kept secrets from her team in order to protect them. JJ, while there isn't much back story to her, we know that she wears a necklace that was given to her by her sister who committed suicide. She loves her son and Will more than anything. Garcia struggles with self esteem (we saw that in season 3) and cares about the team more than anyone else. She is most likely the only one whose look on life mostly likely hasn't changed. She still sees the beauty in it. Rossi, is well, Rossi. He is one of the great ones and is legendary in their field. He has commitment issues but still cares about the victims. If that isn't human, then I don't know what is. Criminal Minds has one of the best developed characters than any other show I have ever seen. Reid seems to be the character that everyone loves--he is the little brother, friend, or boy friend that we all wish we knew. MGG does a great job of making the "boy genius" very believable.

i love love love reid. i thought i was weird for having a crush on the nerdy character. i love the way he speaks, how smart he is. how lanky he is. he is just adorable. i love how he swooned the bartender with his magic. and i just started watching CM a few months ago. and p.s Rossi went to my high school. little known fact. lol
