Chance of Paget Brewster returning

I have read that there is a chance that Paget Brewster might return to CM next season, but I also saw that she has been casted in a pilot, but that it has to be picked up first or something. Since I'm Dutch I don't understand much about how American television works.How large is the chance of Paget Brewster returned really? 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Her contract included a pilot option--meaning she had the option to look for a new show or if that didn't work out, she could come back to Criminal Minds as a regular next season. Paget chose to look for a new show, and landed a role in a pilot. Pilots work like this: networks look at a bunch of scripts for potential new shows and choose the ones they want to see more of. Those shows film an episode--a pilot--and send it to the network. The network then decides, based on the pilots, which new shows they want to add to their schedule. Even though Paget has been cast in a comedy pilot, there's still a chance that she might reprise her roll in Criminal Minds (assuming that's what she wants) because in the same way not every script is chosen to be a pilot, not every pilot is chosen to be a show. And even if the pilot is chosen to be a show, there's no guarantee the casting won't change. So...she does have the option to come back if things don't work out with the new show. We'll find out more this summer, when most of the fall 2011 decisions are made. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
