Sober Talk

"members aren't supposed to enter relationships with each other while trying to get sober." You talking about while working steps or a certain time frame? Book never says that. Seriously, try reading the Big Book before you quote things on tv, especially when it comes to "The Program". It is only suggested that in the first year you either stay out of relationships or stay in the one that you are in.. no big changes in the first year. Of course most people disregard this, thinking they know better than those who have come before them, lol!

I was talking to producers (who I know don't read these discussion boards, but just wanted people to know) and about Spencer's profile -- about an episode in Season 6. I was reading what he said while they were at an AA meeting investigating; The Thirteenth Step, which in reality does not and should not exist. Just an FYI for those people who don't know anything about AA. The generalization about people in recovery is misleading. I must say I did love the episode where Reid got the one year chip to hold on to from another guy in the rooms.

Where I live, we do have 13 steppers. That's what we call people who attend meetings just to meet sexual partners. In most cases two people with minimal sobriety will relapse together
