Chat bout episode 6.20 Hanley Waters.

Okay..wow.
So what did we find out?
1. Morgan is angry
2. Garcia wants to remember the happy times
3. Reid..oh Reid...cries and wishes she was still their
4. Rossi...well, he is concerned with Hotch

I seriously cried during the meetings with Reid(I B.A.W.L.E.D), the 2 meetings with Morgan, and Rossi's meeting. And I seriously thought that the 'soccer mom' was going to shoot Hotch. I was sooo scared.

I know, his episode was just oh, so sad. Garcia made me cry so much and Reid he was just so sad and he didn't know how to express it. I'm worried Morgan is going on like a hunting spree for Doyle and is going to get himself hurt. I think Hotch really needs someone to talk to, I'm glad Rossi is there to help him out. The team is just so sad without Emily. :(. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Were we watching the same episode? I didn't cry at all. All I got was another bad episode. Sure, it was sad about Mrogan and Reid missing Emily and all, but I didn't think it was a good episode. And I can't say enough about Seaver. She will be the reason I stop watching. Just can't stand her and her baby doll robot acting.

Maybe Morgan and Reid should take some time off and hunt for Doyle. With brains and brawn, they would be a formidable pair.

the whole episode pretty much made me cry. on one side im extremely worried about hotch b/c he has more to bear than the others but im also upset with him b/c he knows she's not dead and he sat with each of them and talked about their grief. UUGGGGHHH and i was already in tears but when Morgan almost started crying i totally lost it and bawled like a little baby. im way tooo obsessed with this show but oh well 2  out of 4 found this valuable. Such a sad episode!! Reid and Garcia made me want to cry! Glad that Morgan mentioned wanting to ge get Doyle, makes me hope they will get him! Poor Hotch, at least he has Rossi to talk to. Loved that Rossi said that the team was the best marriage he ever had.

I am weary about something, remember that Hotch said in the last episode that they need an experienced Profiler. In the next epsiode the description says that Strauss will be coming down on them again. Does that mean she will try to plant a Profiler in the team like she did with Prentiss?

Hotch's little speech at the end was so sad but sweet. The team needed to hear that. When Reid and Hotch were talking it alarmed me that Reid said that he thought Gideon might be right about it might not being worth it. I hope Hotch's words helped them all.

Still cannot stand Seaver, she is on my Unsub hit list with Strauss! Let the Unsubs get them!! Made me gag at the end when Seaver said stay tuned for scenes for the next epsiode, the first time I heard her say that.

When Reid was all "Maybe Gideon was right. Maybe it isn't worth it." (something like that)
I was like "NOOO! You're worth it! It's worth it! I swear! Don't leave!"
My mom was laughing at me the whole time.

I felt the same way!! A sad Reid makes me sad. Reid has to stay, he goes I go! Same with Hotch, Morgan, Garcia, and Rossi. Seaver can be killed off for all I care, was hoping a stray bullet would hit her throughout the episode.

It was an alright episode. Not the best, but not the worst. There was a lot more Hotch! He must've felt so damn guilty when he was "assessing" his team members. I remember thinking while Rossi and him were talking, "Rossi's going to be pissed at him when he finds out Emily is still alive..." Emily won't be the only one the team will be upset with, Hotch will be taking his fair share, too.

Got nothing against Seaver... She's just doing her part in the team. I don't think she's trying to act like an experienced profiler, she's just participating, because they all have to work together. I was, yet again, taken aback when they first showed her in this episode, because every time that happens I'm reminded of JJ.

"Hanley Waters" was quite a decent episode. Not one of my favourites, but definitely better than some of the other episodes I've seen this season. I don't know if I'll watch it for a second time, perhaps I will for the wonderful one on ones Hotch had with Morgan, Garcia, Reid, and Rossi. Those were by far, my favourite parts of the the episode. I think the writers did a good job of capturing the essence of the individual characters through those one on ones. I felt for all of them, Reid, Morgan, Garcia, Rossi, and Hotch, they all broke my heart, especially Garcia and Reid. Morgan's opening scene was very well done too. I was glad Rossi was there for Hotch because I kept thinking to myself he needs someone to talk to too! So it was a nice touch when Rossi raised the glass to Emily and Haley.
Another thing I liked about this episode is increased footage for Hotch. I have been crying out for this since a long time, and TG did not disappoint. He completely owns Hotch and they need to renew his and Shemar's contracts asap. The last scene with Morgan and Hotch made me want to cry. We're all wishing Emily was still with us, aern't we? :( When, oh when is Hotch going to be doing another quote? It's been a really long time since we've had a Hotch opening/closing quote.
That scene with the unsub, her husband, and Hotch was a good one too. I do think this episode, like a lot of other season6&5 episodes was a bit too unsub centric, but it did help that the actress portraying the unsub did a commendable job. I could feel her pain, her helplessness, her sadness, anger, grief and I felt really sad for her :(
With Reid's mystery headaches, and now in the previous episode him wondering if Gideon was right, that maybe the job isn't worth it, does anyone else think they're opening the door for his possible exit? I don't know..he just seemed so broken and desolate. I just wanted to hug him!

The best thing about "Hanley Waters" though was that Seaver did not get a one on one session with Hotch! Thank god! I think I would've lost my patience if I would have had to endure another moment of her than is absolutely necessary. Plus, she didn't really know Emily all that well, so it wouldn't make sense to devote a scene to her to talk about how Emily's death impacted her.
I still think she is a useless waste of space who adds nothing to the show. What's sadder is that even when she is saying something of consequence, I can't help but tune out, because her delivery is just so poor. It feels as though the writers are purposely giving her irrelevant lines to make her annoy us further, even the team did not react to some of the things she said in this episode. She needs to disappear asap, and make way for a more credible character(the return of Emily and JJ would be ideal), and hopefully a superior actress who actually knows how to act and is versatile enough to channel different emotions and expressions through her acting.

Morgan and Reid could start a better spin-off than the other Criminal Minds! I think Morgan should go on the hunt for Doyle, get in big trouble, and for a change Reid could save him!

Nobody said anything. People were talking about an action, and we all know Seaver is written without any action. So,it was Seaver, the character.

You think People hate Seaver on this thread? You should go to the "Reid's Secret" thread. Look at revew #1267. There's a nice picture of Seaver.

I liked the scene with Hotch, the unsub and her husband. I thought she might shoot him a few different times. Kelli Williams was excellent as the unsub, as I found her likable even though she was in a psychotic break. I thought that the counseling sessions with team members were well done and integrated well with the unsub's story as it unfolded. They were all grieving for Prentiss the same way this mother was grieving for her son, who wasn't able to be helped in time and died as a result. They were each exhibiting different stages of the grieving process, just like her. Reid and Garcia, especially, broke my heart with what they said. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I feel the same way. If Seaver had a one on one session. Well that would have been it for me. I'm glad the writers had good sense there.
regardless in general, I am very disappointed in the decline of my "favorite" show. I just dont feel the same enthusiasm for this season and these episodes. They seem to be written differently to me this this year (as well as losing JJ and Emily). This episode and others this season seem to be focusing too much on the unsubs. I enjoyed them better when the viewer was in suspense and trying to figure things out as well.

This episode was sad touching and good. I felt so bad for the unsub and could actually understand why she broke. It literally broke my heart when Reid and Garcia were talking with Hotch one on one. I wanted to hunt Doyle with Morgan. I was glad Rossi was more there for Hotch than Hotch asking him about his feelings. I couldn't really tell were the Hotch one on one scenes supposed to be before the unsub's case or after. I loved the Hotch scene with the unsub and husband and how he was kind of talking to the team and himself as he spoke to her too. It was by fair one of the better episodes I've seen this scene. Though I hated not having JJ and Emily on show anymore. I think the team's going to be super pissed when they find out Emily's alive and Hotch and JJ knew. Especially Reid he puts all his trust and faith in this team, his family and Hotch and JJ lied to him ohhh boy. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I knooww!! It was weird hearing Seaver say it...un-natural.
