Hey! I haven't posted in a while, like a LONG time. But I feel so happy tonight! Seriously, a lot of stress (midterms, HUGE research project, course selection, etc) was lifted this week, and now CriMi's back, and it was glorious episode, and oh! I died. Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Great to see a Reid-centric episode! I'm not one of those squealy, slightly-annoying fangirls who thinks that EVERY episode should be a Reid episode, but IMO, we were lacking Reid in the last few episodes.

The actual case was really mind-boggling. All of the premeditation and contriving... jeez! I never saw the chess thing coming!! I do kind of feel bad for Caleb. Granted, killing a 7-year-old is bound to drive a wedge in a friendship, but killing people in the style of a killer that was never caught just to kill your best friend's wife because she's not as smart as you two is going too far.

I do appreciate the little moments we get where we kind of get to see how Reid's mind works. They did it a lot more in earlier seasons, but not so much nowadays, so that was nice. I also love the concern from Emily, JJ, and Morgan. :)

The last scene with Reid and Emily and then the birthday scene gave me back-to-back warm fuzzies. "It feels right to be here, with you guys." AWWW!!! And then the family hugs and smiles and joy. I seriously had an ear-to-ear grin that I could not get rid of if I wanted to. :D C:

All in all, FANTASTIC episode to come back to (and next week is #150!). I was in countdown mode to the minute for the last few days (sometimes annoying my friends, but it's CRIMI, so it's accepted.) I jumped up and down, I laughed, I cried, I freaked out, I was filled with warm fuzzies, I happy danced. It was a great way to spend my first night of freedom. Criminal Minds, you never disappoint. :D

I am in total agreement. Even season six is better than no CM. Loved this episode!

I thought this was a really good episode, although I was hoping there would be a twist, like that Harvey was actually the killer, instead of Caleb. There was just enough uncertainty with the storyline to keep us off balance throughout the episode and unsure what was coming next. In the end, everything came together nicely, and it was nice to see some focus on Reid that was about his intelligence as opposed to just his emotions (aka being upset with JJ in 07x02).

Like ILoveSexyDrReid said, I also had the goofiest grin on my face with the Reid and Prentiss scenes and the birthday party. It doesn't take long to add in scenes like that, and shows us that the characters exist outside the realm of their work in the BAU. I think that is one thing the writers have done really well this season. They have given us these personal moments that make the work challenges like finding an unsub even more important because our heroes are struggling with major, life-altering issues at times and while those things take a temporary backseat to the case at hand, by nature it must leak through at times, like it did with Reid. And when it does, there's always an opportunity for another team member to set him or her back on track, like Prentiss did and that gives us more of a familial feeling. As a result, I love all the characters even more than I did in previous seasons :).

This episode was good. I like when Reid told the press that the FBI would like, if people will stop making false claims about the Zodiac Killer, to get their fifteen minutes of fame. There's always people like that trying to get their fifteen minutes of fame. I love the scene with Prentiss and Reid in the cafe. The scene made me cry at first and then it made me laugh. It was a great moment between Prentiss and Reid. I love the end with the team throwing Reid a surprise birthday party in the round table room. True Genius was a great Reid episode. I can't wait to see their 150th episode. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Oh!!! Here you guys are! :-D

I’m not going to be too popular after this post. Everybody loved this ep, but it was only “Ok” to me.

The BEST part of it was Reid & Em at the table, and the birthday party. Even since season three, Reid is the only person to ever have his birthday acknowledged.

The ‘other’ points. Well…

1. Garcia wearing cat ears??? WTF??? She’s quirky, but that’s too far and needless.
2. Reid “Sometimes I don’t know, it’s just a feeling.” For a genius, this is supposed to be a shock, but it didn’t work for me. Not believable from Reid. The only abstraction he’s “allowed” :-D is not explaining his near-death experience with Tobias!!!
3. ”Computers slow me down.” That’s another stretch for even him. Like when he was examining the bones in ep Big Sea.
4. “You’re not as smart as you think you are.” And Reid squaring off against TWO geniuses??? Again, supposed to shocking, but didn’t work.
5. Aggressive Reid, presenting, and on camera??? Still seems unnatural for him.
6. Didn’t love how Rossi and Morgan were talking so openly in front of the retired detective with Parkinson’s. Thought that was rude???
7. Who just “knew” that Marissa was Caleb victim?!? It was like that’s the only thing that Could have happened. And Caleb complaining that she’s not good enough? To him, nobody would have been good enough b/c she would have taken his place in Harvey’s life.
8. Didn’t Harvey look like Taylor Lautner, when he grows up!

Overall, it was ok. If this ep was one in a series of new eps, then it may have been better to me, but to have this be the first new ep after such a long time, it just didn’t work for me. :-( It seemed like the focus on Reid was too deliberate. I understand that it was supposed to focus on him, but the ep Demonology featured a lot of Emily, but it didn’t feel forced like this was. :-( So when he was like “I let myself down.” I disconnected… You think he would know that whether curing disease or stopping ppl with mental diseases, either way you are helping society. The only thing that changes is ‘how’. Either way, the value is what *he* put on it.

It’s like with Gideon cutting out, and after Emily “died”, Reid wondering to Hotch “What are we doing any of this for…”, Reid letting himself down sounds more like “sympathy talk” to me. All of that is like “Oh poor Reid…Gideon left, then he’s questioning life choices, and now letting himself down? Oh poor Reid.” This ep seemed like the faces that we recognize, but the “characters” weren't there.

Again though, I did love the birthday party!!! :-) That, and Reid and Em at the table, was the best part!!!

And did you notice that there was ~*~*~ NO mention ~*~*~ of Beth???

Oh yeah CMs!!!

New CM word- " Blowback Shadow"

The space on a surface that does not have the surrounding splatter pattern, indicating the presence of an object upon which the splatter pattern was consistent, but the item has been moved!!!

HA HA!!! Those words are not from a dictionary or any real source! Just following a context! To be sure, we can ask Morgan!!! XD

Later!!!

My favorite moment was Rossi's "Italian kiss" to Reid. Remembering Reid's excitement when Rossi joined the team, and Rossi's sometimes annoyance with Reid's babbling, I thought it was the best possible birthday present. "Just like a family."
Somewhere I read that Reid's uncertainty about his life, and his feeling that he should be doing more, were a prelim to his leaving CM if he does not renew his contract after this season ends. So hope THAT does not happen.

Okay, I have to disagree. I freaking loved this episode mainly because it really showed Reid's ability as a genius (I don't think the Big Sea was a stretch at all). I think that Reid questioning whether he was doing the right thing with his life made sense. I know for the last two seasons, by this point, they would have introduced the "big bad" such as Doyle and Foyet but I think the writers are trying to go back to the season where there was not one big story line but smaller individual ones. As for the birthday thing, I like that they only have one team member they make an issue about and it being Reid makes sense what with him being the youngest.

I also am not a fan of the Beth thing. I don't know why but the idea of Hotch having a love interest doesn't seem right with me. I think that one of the reasons that Hotch's character works so well is because of his love for Haley. I think that since he was with her since high school, it should have been a few more seasons before he moved on. I really think Beth should come later and not in this season.

I also like him being the widowed single dad. It works for him.

If anyone should have a love interest it should be either, Morgan, Rossi or Reid. Morgan (mainly I want to know if anything ever happened with Tamara from last season), Rossi because he needs a new wife and marriage to fail at, and Reid because after Lila he never had one that and we never knew what happened with Austin the bartender.

Maybe not freaking loved, but still it was a great episode. It's normal for every person to doubt and question him/herself. and I don't think that they ment to shock us.
As far as H&B, it is ok for him to have someone in his life. His wife died, he doesen't need to be single to prove his sadness or love he felt for her.
And yes, table thing was great.

I am not saying that he has to be single to prove his sadness or love for her. I think it is great for him to move on but to me, it seems to soon. I just think it would have made more sense for the writers to have waited at least another season before giving him a love interest.

Hotch totally deserves a reason to smile. His marriage (and divorce) to Haley were not times filled with happiness. If Beth makes him happy, I am ready to "give them my blessing". In fact, I would like to see all our crime fighters with a reason to smile outside the BAU. The job takes a great deal of a person's soul; they all need a place to regroup; they all need a person who makes them smile. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

He needs a new marriage that can make him happy. Think of how he jumped at he chance that Caroline wanted to get back together. As I I keep saying--they all need a happy personal life; otherwise, things are just too dark.
