1. RE: Gideon come back

Um, no. First of all, the network isn't going to bring him back just because we want it to -- they can't. He's gone, and as his character has been replaced, that's permanent.Furthermore, Mandy's not going to come back just because we want him to. We wanted him to stay, and he knew that, and he still left. It's just not going to happen. And lastly, I *don't* want him back. I think the show will go on and be just fine without him, and I don't think it would be fair to the cast or crew to have to work with him again. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

MadderRose - I agree with you. I think based on what I've heard; he left with things on a negative note and I think that the show will be just fine without him. I think they proved that with last night's episode; I really loved it and they did a great job without him. Mandy wanted out, he got what he wanted and no matter what, he won't be returning.

Why did MP leave the series? He was the glue that held it together. Was it a contract dispute? Was MP disatisfied with the series? The name Giddion meant a great deal to this series and I am not sure of what happened. It's time for the producers and directors to listen to those of us who watch these programs. Get MP back. I am sorry to say that JM cannot fill MP shoes. MP's demeaner and how he carries himself added a great deal to the series. GET MP BACK. Why do people leave a succesfull series? As for Jerico, This one needs to come back also. What is CBS thinking about! It's time to remember who pays the bills. We do buying the advertised products. If we don't see a program we like, we won't see those add's either. If this is managments fault, they need to stop messing around with these programs.

Gideon wa the stable, father figure that kept them all on task. They can certainly manage without him, but Hodge is not quite olde enough to pull it off the same. Gideon Come Back!!

This is not the management's fault. MP cited "creative differences" and left the show of his own accord. It was his doing. you'll find he has done this before with Chicago Hope. He left after a few years of another successful series and cited " Creative differences". It is his MO. He wanted out; they had written him in and had to write him out and let him out of his contract. MP is a great actor, but for whatever, he does not have "staying power".I disagree; I think the show did fine without Gideon last night. They managed and I think they'll do well. It was choppy in the beginning dealing with writing him out but the story/show last night was solid and they did a great job. Do you find this valuable? |

He absolutely needs to come back. The show is not the same. How do we go about contacting the network and getting ahold of someone high up, possibly even a writer, and letting him know that most of the fans want Gideon back? any suggestions anyone?

It was the actor's decision to leave and based upon his reasons, I have to say I don't think Mandy Patinkin will be back for this series - he felt the nature of it was too dark and basically depressing (full of death, etc.).If the writers wrote Gideon back in ever, it wouldn't be MP in the role - it would probably be someone else, which I don't think would be acceptable for fans. You can certainly contact CBS via their website cbs.com and go to Criminal Minds show to send them a message or write them a letter. Do you find this valuable? |

I heard a radio interview with MGG about a few months ago (it was from 2009 I *think*). They asked about MP and asked if the "creative differences" was about money. MGG said it wasn't that but that he had some type of break down because he was a method actor and that he couldn't handle the depression that came with playing Gideon. I find that plausible because that is what they said might have caused Heath Ledger's death when he was playing the Joker in the Batman movie.
